My Story

Hi! I'm Cerelle Centeno and I've worked in digital media and tech for over 15 years. I've held positions in operations, product management, marketing and editorial across B2B and DTC companies such as eMarketer, Mount Sinai Medical Center, iCrossing and, more recently in the astrology vertical, at companies like Horoscope.com and then Co–Star, the mobile app wildly popular among 18-25 year olds.

Community service through volunteering has always been important to me, and I gravitate toward opportunities to build community. I sat on the Board of Directors for Camp Sloane YMCA for 10 years, generating $1000s in donations. In the early aughts, I was a founding member/leader of Slow Food Columbia, SC, a chapter of Slow Food USA, an org that supports good, clean and fair food. The chapter generated 100s of dues-paying members.

As someone who has saved a myriad of treasured heirlooms and nostalgic items from my mother and grandmother, I was inspired by Anderson Cooper’s podcast about grief and loss to start Membery. After getting diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer, I had 3 weeks at home to recuperate from a bilateral mastectomy. It was during that time that I drafted and planned the Membery concept.

Today, my husband and I are living on the road, visiting rework designers and upcycle artists and searching for more creative people and those of us who have items they want reworked. Do you fall into either of these camps? Then come join Membery!
